1. About the service

RefineMyDraft provides AI-assisted writing feedback and word-count reshaping tools. By accessing or using our service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use RefineMyDraft. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password and account.
• You must provide accurate information when registering.
• You may not share your account with others or use another person's account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Word credits and payments

• Word credits are purchased in advance and deducted when you submit work for review or reshaping.
• Credits are non-refundable once they have been used to process a job.
• Unused credits do not expire and carry over indefinitely.
• Free starter credits (1,000 words on sign-up) cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.
• All prices are shown in GBP (£) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes.
• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.

If a job fails due to a technical error on our side, the credits used will be refunded to your account. If a job fails due to your input (e.g., corrupted file, unsupported content), credits may not be refunded.

5. Your content

You retain full ownership of all documents and text you submit to RefineMyDraft. By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to process that content solely for the purpose of delivering the requested service to you.

We do not use your submitted content to train AI models, build datasets, or for any purpose other than generating your requested output.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use RefineMyDraft to:

• Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, or infringes intellectual property rights.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape or attack our systems.
• Create multiple accounts to abuse the free credit allowance.
• Resell, sublicence or commercially redistribute our service without written permission.

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that engage in abusive or fraudulent behaviour without notice.

7. AI output and accuracy

RefineMyDraft uses large language models to generate feedback and reshaping. While we strive for high quality, AI-generated output may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing all output before use. We make no warranty that output will be error-free, accurate, suitable for submission to any academic or professional body, or free from any form of bias.

Do not submit RefineMyDraft output as your own original work in any context where doing so would violate academic integrity policies or other professional standards. We provide a tool to improve your writing — not to replace it.

8. Intellectual property

All software, design, branding and content that makes up the RefineMyDraft platform is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any part of the platform without permission.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RefineMyDraft and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or academic or professional consequences of using AI-generated output.

Our total liability to you in respect of any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. Upon deletion, your access will be revoked and your data will be scheduled for removal within 7 days. Unused credits are forfeited and cannot be refunded upon account deletion.

We may terminate or suspend your account at our discretion if you breach these terms, without prior notice.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes are published constitutes your acceptance.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
